Welcome to the new online learning centre for JAA aviation studies: atpls.org. Here you will find study material that is relevant from PPL to ATPL, including the most recent JAA CQB. And it's FREE for anyone who signs up!

This site is not yet another aviation forum, but centered around actual aviation courses and pedagogic learning material inspected by instructors.

Many of the courses are still being modified and added to. The software running the site has already been fully tried and tested, but minor reorganisations may still occur as regards the contents.

Software running the site has been upgraded
by Admin User - Wednesday, 2 December 2009, 10:19 AM

The Moodle software on this site has now been upgraded to the latest version, which comes with certain security-enhancing features. You may be asked to change your password upon login. Even if you were not prompted for it, we recommend changing passwords now -- in the new version they are better encrypted in the database.

(For a short while after the upgrade, the graphical outlook of the site may be a bit basic... Bear with us as we complete the graphics uploads.)

Problems signing up?
by Admin User - Monday, 30 March 2009, 08:02 PM

If you encounter problems when signing up with your email, please contact Admin by email ("admin" (at) this domain name) to activate your account, sending it from the address you used when signing up.

(We've seen some servers rejecting the confirmation email as spam, while others have reported unability to open the email. There's a 1:10 chance of this, roughly.)

Course editors wanted

Are you an expert in a particular domain in aviation -- enough so to produce high-quality content on this site?

We are welcoming "applications" from such individuals, who would like to either create a new course (a great way to make sure you'll have a course to that fits exactly your needs) or contribute to existing courses.

If you are an ATPL student and would like to contribute to the quality of the QB as regards a particular topic (what better way to make a lasting imprint in your memory than to work with the Qs?!), we are looking for people who could help improve the site by categorising the Qs in the official JAA 'learning objective' categories. This will allow students to better focus on one subtopic at a time and make sure they cover it well enough before moving on in their books. (See Principles of Flight for an example.)

(There are also some spelling/grammar errors in certain Qs that we'd like to have corrected in the same go, without changing sentence structure too much as it is very important that the Qs remain the same as in JAA exams! This could be considered cosmetic, however.)

In either case, please send a personal message to the admin.
